Perfect Venues.

We advise running multi-day workshops or critical meetings off-site whenever possible. We also know and understand that that is not always possible. If you wish to run your session off-site, then we can advise which types of venues are most likely going to provide the best setting for the most productive time together. It’s worth spending a bit of time on and it need not break the bank. From our experience the investment pays back because your team gets to spend more time together and are uniquely focused on what they are working on together.

We are used to working with international teams that often need to fly in specifically. We understand the logistical practicalities of getting to and from airports. Whilst we are management consultants and not travel agents, our experience of working off-site means that we bring our years of experience when matching venues with teams. Teams have their own ‘vibe’, so we check out where the team will feel most at home. It matters.

TYPES OF VENUES

The type of venue needs to reflect the contextual situation of the team. Does the team really need to get ‘away from it all’? Does it need to decompress in the evening somewhere lively? Does the team need a good selection of restaurants close by or is a good gastro-pub going to fit the bill just perfectly? Country estates, Georgian boutique hotels, or something more creative - we know what will work.

Team time

You can’t build a perfectly functioning team over night - so it is unlikely you’ll find us suggesting you all build a raft together. Nonetheless, down-time or light activities together are absolutely brilliant for strengthening those bonds and breaking down any barriers. We are firm believers in allowing teams time to relax, spending time doing something fun in each other’s company. Here are a few things we’ve suggested to leadership teams:

  • ‘blue badge’ guided walking tours in historical cities with team pub quiz

  • traditional / old-fashioned ten pin bowling

  • yoga & mindfulness for beginners (fantastic skills for executives)

  • make your own team-flavoured cocktails & mocktails

  • personal story-telling (great for building relationship & trust)

  • guided countryside walks (superb for ideation)

  • escape rooms

  • wine-tasting
